The short version

Timezoner has no accounts, no cookies, no tracking, no analytics, and no ads. We don't build profiles or sell anything. The only data that is stored is the list of friends (names and timezones) that people type in — and that list is shared and public.

Timezone detection (your approximate location)

To guess your timezone, our Cloudflare Worker reads the approximate location that Cloudflare derives from your IP address at the network edge — roughly city, region, country, and timezone. This is used only in the moment to show your local time.

  • We do not store this location, and we do not keep our own logs of it.
  • It is never linked to the friends list or to any identifier.
  • Your browser also reports its own timezone (via the Intl API) as a fallback — that stays on your device.

The friends list

Names and timezones you add as “friends” are saved to a shared Cloudflare D1 (SQLite) database so they persist between visits. Because there are no accounts, this list is visible to and editable by anyone who uses the app.

  • Please don't enter sensitive personal information — treat it like a public sticky note.
  • Anyone can edit or delete any entry at any time, including yours.
  • Timezones you add via “Add timezone” (rather than registering a friend) are kept only in your browser for the session and are never sent to the database.

Third parties

  • Cloudflare hosts the app and database and processes requests on our behalf; standard network-level logging may occur under Cloudflare's own policies.
  • Google Fonts are loaded from Google's CDN to render the site's typography, which means Google may receive your IP address as part of serving those font files. No other data is shared with Google.

Retention & your choices

Friend entries stay until someone deletes them or the database is reset. You can remove any entry yourself at any time using the delete button on its card — no request to us needed. Location data used for timezone detection is not retained at all.

Children

Timezoner is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children, and we knowingly collect no personal information from anyone.
